Top 5 Unbeatable Athletes in UFC

Table of Contents

Which UFC athlete comes to your mind when you hear the word “Unbeatable”?

For me, it’s Khamzat Chimaev, who’s all set to extend his winning streak to 15-0-0 (Wins-Losses-Draws) at UFC 319. But this time, it wouldn’t be easier for Khamzat, because he’ll be up against Dricus Du Plessis, the current middleweight champion.

Having said that, do you know that along with Khamzat, there are a few more athletes who have never lost a single fight? Also, while Khamzat’s career is far from over, some fighters have retired unbeaten, after spending decades inside the octagon.

Anyways, till we find out if Khamzat keeps his winning streak alive, or Dricus successfully defends his title at UFC 319, why don’t we explore some of the iconic streaks in this sport?

But before I start, you know where you can catch all the live action of UFC 319, right? If not, then let’s start by explaining where you can watch this action-packed UFC event.

Where To Stream UFC 319?

All the UFC events are live-streamed on ESPN+. I love watching this sport, and for that reason, I’ve bundled cable TV with affordable Spectrum Internet packages to watch UFC 319 and all its events live on ESPN.

And, with Spectrum’s lightning-fast internet, I can easily stream legendary fights in HD quality, without compromising on quality.

5 Iconic Winning Streaks In UFC

Several UFC athletes have managed to secure a victory every time they stepped into the octagon. But here, I’ll be discussing the top five fighters, who I believe, had one of the best winning streaks in this sport.

Khabib Nurmagomedov

The Dagestani “Eagle” is arguably the best lightweight athlete in the UFC’s history. And, his impeccable record of 29-0-0 validates my point.

Throughout his career, Khabib faced several formidable opponents, like Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje. And, not only did Khabib defeat them, but he made a mockery of them.

Having said that, I believe Khabib hadn’t run out of fuel, and he could’ve contributed a lot to this sport. His last bout came at UFC 254 when he defeated Gaethje and hung up his boots at the age of 32.

Nevertheless, Khabib swiftly transitioned into coaching young Dagestani fighters, who are pounding their opponents inside the octagon now. And, even after quitting the sport for several years now, no lightweight athlete has come closer to breaking his record.

Ilia Topuria

“El Matador” has one of the longest winning streaks among active UFC fighters. Hailing from the lightweight division, it’s unfortunate that UFC fans never witnessed a bout between him and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Anyways, Topuria is quickly adding more and more wins to his impeccable record. Also, with age on his side and no one to challenge him in the lightweight division, Topuria can break Khabib’s record in the coming years.

Having said that, Topuria has got some big names under his belt, like Charles Oliveira, Max Holloway, and Alexander Volkanovski. Also, Topuria is one of the only 10 UFC fighters to bag two different UFC division titles.

Michael Morales

I believe he is one of the most underrated fighters in UFC. But his streak of 18 wins is better than most legends in this sport. Hailing from Ecuador, Morales made his way to the UFC by partaking in Dana White’s Contender Series.

After toying with his opponents for fun in the Contender Series, Morales hasn’t looked back. As things stand, there are chances that UFC will give him a title shot in the welterweight division.

That being said, Morales has already defeated the former welterweight division challenger, Gilbert Burns, this year. And, with his current red-hot form, I believe it’s only a matter of two or three UFC events till Morales gets his much-deserved shot at the welterweight belt.

Khamzat Chimaev

As I mentioned earlier, Khamzat is going to face Dricus Du Plessis in a title bout in the middleweight division at UFC 319. I wouldn’t take anything away from Khamzat’s previous wins, but it’s a fact that Dricus is going to be his toughest opponent yet.

However, Chimaev’s run to the biggest stage has been quite impressive. For instance, out of his 14 professional MMA wins, Khamzat has won 8 in the UFC. Furthermore, he has thrashed the likes of Gilbert Burns, John Phillips, Rhys McKee, and Gerald Meerschaert.

Anyway, Khamzat’s biggest challenge in his fighting career isn’t very far now. And soon, we’ll find out if Khamzat successfully defends his streak and grabs the belt. Or, will it be Dricus Du Plessis hammering Chimaev like he’s been doing to his opponents from the last few months?

Shavkat Rakhmonov

Honestly, Shavkat has been one of the most impressive UFC fighters and has grabbed some crucial victories in no time. To date, Shavkat has featured in 7 UFC fights and successfully kept a clean record.

Among his famous victories, his bouts against Stephen Thompson and Geoff Neal stand out the most for me. Simply because Shavkat was an underdog in front of these two powerhouses. And yet, he defeated them to etch his name in the division’s history.

As of now, Shavkat is still waiting for a title shot. That said, I believe it’s only a matter of time till he gets one in the welterweight division. Also, with Michael Morales, another unbeaten UFC star fighting in the same division, fans will go crazy if UFC announces a match-card featuring these undefeated champs.

To sum up, these are my top five picks for undefeated UFC fighters. Except for Khabib, the rest of the athletes are still active. And, considering their current form, it might be an uphill task to end their streak.

But for now, all eyes are on Khamzat vs. Dricus, so let’s hope we get to see an explosive and entertaining fight.
